Frugal Configurator
The idea behind this project is simple: No offcuts in the manu- facturing process + every sheet material dimensions leads to following objects.
The core of this project are three CAD files, which are completely parametric and do not contain fixed dimensions. This means that any format (L/W/H) of a sheet material leads to the result of a chair, table or lamp. The main part of this project was to find suit- able patterns for the panels so that there was hardly any waste in form of offcuts. In addi- tion, the designs should be adaptable to any material sheet size. In the application “Fusion 360” by Autodesk, I created a file that can be controlled via the parameter input field.
